Talk - Visual Planet - Touchscreen technology

Their touchscreens are used in digital signage, kiosks and sense through non-metallic surfaces. The technology allows ordinary windows to be turned into touch screens, making shop windows into interactive displays.
Vernon Spencer will be talking about touchscreen technologies, demonstrating the Visual Planet technology, and the discussing direction of the company.

Talk - Employee motivation as a driver of organisational success - Anthony Stanton
Submitted by Jeff on 30 June 2009 - 9:31am.There is a mass of evidence showing that staff with high motivation create much better organisational results than those without. This talk will look at the impact of motivation on the bottom line and at the drivers of motivation.
Anthony Stanton’s background is in Human Resources and general management in a variety of sectors. He has led the HR function in organisations employing from 600 to 11,000 staff, managing turn-rounds and leading strategic and operational change. His HR career is his second, following general management roles in the NHS. He has a University of Oxford first degree together with a Masters degree in HR. He writes, consults and speaks on how people management can drive up bottom line performance, and has a particular interest in HR strategy.

Pub - Geldart pub - 24th June

An email announcement about the meeting hasn't gone out, but I hear the Geldart is good, and I'd like to include it on the extended pubcrawl. So rather than change the venue, for this time only, we'll have an odd date - Wed 24th June. Apparently the food is good too,
Designing and making cars on a small-scale - Mon 1st June
Submitted by Jeff on 26 May 2009 - 10:35pm.Phil Bevan is the designer of the Trident Iceni and the Managing Director of Trident Motor Vehicles. The new Iceni is a sports car with lots of innovation - from the 6.6l V8 diesel engine with computer-driven gearbox to the folded stainless-steel chassis.
Kimon Roussopolous has a background in automotive engineering and innovation as Chief Scientist at Pi, and as a consultant in the Formula 1 industry.
Our panel will be talking about the challenges of designing and building cars on a small-scale.
