Ideas for hub place

A discussion between Cambridge networks led to the realization that we don't have any hub spot in Cambridge for people interested in business and technology. We're looking for a place - pub/restaurant/coffee shop/club - which we can promote.

Requirements: comfortable, all day opening, food, coffee, nooks where people can meet, parking and easy access, network access. Perhaps you have more requirements.

If you have a suggestions or thoughts, please add your ideas for venues or whatever.

No January talk

I'm afraid I haven't been able to arrange anything for tonight - 12th Jan.

We'll have the normal pubmeet next week - Monday 19th Jan - at the Bun Shop, King St.

Talk: Mark Gostick - Liquavista

01/12/2008 - 22:30
Etc/GMT

I'm pleased to be able to tell you of the continuation of our display technology theme; Mark Gostick, CEO of Liquavista will be discussing their technology and company.

Liquavista is a spin out from Philips Reasearch Labs making displays built on the discovery of electrowetting. Electrowetting involves modifying the natural surface tension, or capillary forces, intrinsic to an oil and water interface at small length scales. Using this effect, Liquavista have created a coloured, pixelated optical switch, capable of switching in milliseconds, which in the future will form the basis of displays capable of showing video content.
